Proceedings of the 2016 IFIP Summer School on Privacy and Identity Management

Book coverIn August 2016, more than 90 researchers and experts met in Karlstad for a week for a scientific summer school on information privacy and identity management.  The proceedings book containing the scientific contributions to the 2016 IFIP Summer School on Privacy and Identity Management at Karlstad University has now been published by Springer! ISBN: 978-3-319-55782-3 (Print) 978-3-319-55783-0 (Online).

It contains the article “Big Data Prophylactics” by Roger Clarke, and – among others – an article on “A Survey of Security Analysis in Federated Identity Management” by  Sean Simpson and Thomas Groß.









Tax-day-breakdown of Norwegian e-ID system BankID

Norwegians woke up today in expectation of their electronic tax statement getting delivered into their digital mailboxes on the government portal However, the most popular electronic identity of Norway, the bank-owned BankID system, was “instable” and therefore excluded from the login screen of the Norwegian identity federation portal, ID-porten. Even the banks mentioned “instability”, while BankID claims that their system is inaccessible for “some users”.

The Altinn portal has a history of instable service on tax day. We’ll report on the causes of today’s disturbance (see comments for updates).

Open Identity Summit 2017 will be held in Karlstad, Sweden!

The 5th Open Identity Summit, an academic conference organized by the BIOSIG group in GI, is in 2017 hosted by Karlstad University, Sweden. With its strategic location between Oslo, Stockholm and Gothenborg, the summit will accomodate academic exchange on aspects of digital identity management.
