Norwegians woke up today in expectation of their electronic tax statement getting delivered into their digital mailboxes on the government portal Altinn.no. However, the most popular electronic identity of Norway, the bank-owned BankID system, was “instable” and therefore excluded from the login screen of the Norwegian identity federation portal, ID-porten. Even the banks mentioned “instability”, while BankID claims that their system is inaccessible for “some users”.
The Altinn portal has a history of instable service on tax day. We’ll report on the causes of today’s disturbance (see comments for updates).
The 5th Open Identity Summit, an academic conference organized by the BIOSIG group in GI, is in 2017 hosted by Karlstad University, Sweden. With its strategic location between Oslo, Stockholm and Gothenborg, the summit will accomodate academic exchange on aspects of digital identity management.
